An extremely peated version and wonderfully luscious. A remarkably well-balanced release from Nikka.
Yellow in colour with gold highlights, and a nose which is peaty, ashy and medicinal as well as marked by notes of coconut, praline and violet. The palate is delicate and rich, gradually revealing a smokiness and vegetal notes before liquorice emerges. The finish is long and marine, and evolves along a theme of flowers, smoked malted barley and cough pastilles. The whole is remarkably balanced.

Palate :
fine and silky, swinging between smoked malted barley and honey. Develops with vegetal notes (dry grass), smoke (peat fire) and liquorice.
Finish :
long and marine, revealing floral (violet and lily) and vegetal (smoked malt) notes. Medicinal (cough pastilles) notes also emerge, giving extra length.
